Pneumonia is an infection of the lower respiratory tract that can be caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, or parasites. Community-acquired pneumonia CAP occurs in patients who have gotten the infection in the community compared to nosocomial pneumonia which is acquired in a healthcare setting such as a hospital or a nursing facility. This case study will discuss community-acquired pneumonia. In CAP, it is important to understand the most common causative pathogens. CAP is usually viral or bacterial. Cap can be caused by typical or atypical pathogens. Common typical bacteria and atypical organisms that cause pneumonia are listed below.

Presentation On October 11,, a 29 years old lady accompanied by her family arrived at the Emergency Department complaining of difficulty of breathing. Her symptoms started 7 days ago with mild fever , cough, headache for which she self-medicated with Biogesic and Ambroxol tablet. After initial improvement, she had a worsening of symptoms starting 2 days ago with high fever, generalized body ache accompanied with mild difficulty of breathing , so she decided to come to the hospital.
