This guidebook is the first and only guidebook to go into detail about the time between the Renaissance period and WWI: the Italian Risorgimento. At the age of twelve, his father sent him to study with the most famous painter in the city. He became an apprentice to a famous painter in Florence named Domenico Ghirlandaio Quill, 5. After a year or so, he stopped paining and began working as a sculptor.
To see a scorned, beaten, and crucified man lying dead in the arms of his mother is an image, which can inspire overwhelming emotions within the heart of an observer. To me, art has never been about expressing oneself or conveying a message to others, but simply creating an image for the sake of beauty and perfection. When I look at the Pieta I see a cold, solid mass of marble carved by the skilled hands of a master.
